Bio-Fertiliser Research & Development

Sansar Institute of Agricultural Research & Development (SIART)

Advancing Sustainable Agriculture Through Microbial Innovation

At SIART, we are committed to reshaping the future of Indian agriculture through cutting-edge bio-fertiliser research and development. Our work bridges scientific innovation and grassroots application, creating eco-friendly alternatives to chemical fertilisers that support long-term soil health and sustainable crop productivity.

As part of the Sansar Green Mission, our R&D efforts directly align with the goal of promoting green, organic, and self-reliant agriculture—empowering farmers while preserving nature.

🔍 Key Areas of R&D Focus

1. Microbial Strain Development

We isolate and develop beneficial soil microbes tailored to local climatic and soil conditions:

  • Nitrogen-fixing bacteria (Rhizobium, Azospirillum)

  • Phosphate-solubilising bacteria (PSB)

  • Mycorrhizal fungi

  • Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR)

Our in-house lab cultures multi-strain microbial consortia for enhanced effectiveness across a variety of crops and soil types.

2. Formulation & Application Technology

We research and produce bio-fertilisers in multiple formats:

  • Liquid and solid carriers

  • Seed coating and root dipping solutions

  • Soil and foliar application blends

SIARD is experimenting with biofilm-based formulations and nano-enhanced carriers to improve microbial survival, nutrient delivery, and shelf life.

3. On-Field Validation & Farmer Collaboration

All SIARD bio-inputs undergo rigorous field testing in diverse agro-climatic zones. We work hand-in-hand with farmers through:

  • Demonstration plots

  • Yield comparison trials

  • Training & capacity-building programs

The goal is not just innovation, but farmer-ready solutions that improve productivity naturally.

4. Sustainability Impact

Our bio-fertilisers:

  • Increase crop yields (by 15–40%)

  • Improve soil organic matter and microbial activity

  • Reduce dependency on synthetic fertilisers

  • Support carbon sequestration and climate resilience

These benefits are central to SIARD’s mission of building a healthier agricultural ecosystem.

“At SIART, we believe that the future of farming lies not in chemicals, but in the living power of nature. Our research in bio-fertilisers is grounded in the belief that sustainable agriculture starts with healthy soil, empowered farmers, and science that serves the earth. Every formulation we develop is a step toward self-reliant, eco-friendly farming for India.”
