🌿 Greening Young Minds: Plantation & Organic Farming Lessons in Schools

An Initiative by SIARD – Nurturing a Sustainable Tomorrow

At SIARD (Sansar Institute of Agricultural Research & Development), we believe that the journey toward sustainable agriculture begins with awareness—and that awareness starts early.

Our Plantation and Organic Farming School Outreach Program introduces students to the principles of organic, eco-friendly farming through engaging, hands-on learning experiences. These initiatives are designed to inspire the next generation to become informed, responsible, and climate-conscious citizens.

📚 Why Teach Sustainability in Schools?

In a world facing the urgent challenges of climate change, soil degradation, and food insecurity, it is essential to equip young minds with the tools and knowledge to protect our environment.

Through this program, students learn:

  • 🌱 How to grow food naturally without harmful chemicals

  • 🌾 Basics of organic farming, composting, and bio-fertilisers

  • 🌳 The importance of tree plantation for ecological balance

  • 🐝 How biodiversity and soil health impact farming and nutrition

This is not just environmental education—it’s life education, rooted in real-world impact and long-term sustainability.

👩‍🌾 What the Program Includes

As part of our initiative, we conduct:

  • School Plantation Drives with local and climate-suitable species

  • Interactive Organic Farming Workshops using live demonstrations

  • Educational Seminars on soil health, microbial life, and sustainable agriculture

  • Practical Training in composting, seed germination, and natural pest control

  • Organic School Gardens, maintained by students with expert support

All activities are tailored to the local agro-ecological context and aligned with SIARD’s broader work in bio-fertiliser research and field applications.

“By integrating plantation and organic farming into school curriculums, we are empowering children to make informed choices about food, farming, and sustainability—ensuring they grow into environmentally conscious citizens with a lasting impact on their communities and the world.”
Rajeev Singh, Founder & Chairman, SIARD

🌍 Long-Term Impact

SIARD’s school outreach is designed to:

  • Instill eco-literacy in early education

  • Build habits of natural farming and soil stewardship

  • Encourage youth participation in environmental conservation

  • Promote community-driven sustainability models

Our team also guides schools on how to integrate SIARD-developed bio-inputs like organic compost, microbial bio-fertilisers, and plant tonics into their gardens and classroom projects.
